GET A GRIP – FROM WRIST WUSS TO THUMB WRESTLER

Do you need a handy man?

Pain in your wrists?

Is your grip, limiting your Krav Maga Training? In everyday life (pickle jars)? Or in general they’re not working well for you?

Here’s some great tips for improving those wrists of fury.  You may have noticed in those everyday activities, like carrying in your shopping or holding a suitcase that your grip feels under powered.  You may also spend a lot of time at a computer, tablet or phone typing, with the resulting resulting niggles at the end of the day.

Stretching out the hands and digits, combined with improving your grip strength helps across the board with so many other activities.  I was in a supermarket once and caught an old man who was slipping, if he did not have a strong grip as well, he may have fallen and broken his hip.

The key is that a stronger grip will help improve many areas of your training and life in general and here’s some great ideas to help you make progress.

Are you reading this at your desk. Typing and lifting coffee mugs all day is tiring and can put strain on your digits.

Here’s some great stretches you can do. You’ll feel so chilled,  that you may want to do them in your underpants like the coach in this video.

Did you know that you may already have some fantastic training equipment at your desk already?

The rubber band!Try it for a finger extension exercise.


If it’s too easy, just add on another one until you can feel the resistance. Habits quickly build and you’ll start doing it whilst on the phone for a while.

These yoga based exercises are a little more time consuming but you’ll be amazed at the increased strength you’ll get from this style of training.

We’re using this exercise as a foundational exercise to build up into the handstand.
