The recent “Stab in the Dark” course was an introduction to some of the most common types of knife attacks that can happen in Preston. The training explained about the different distances that an attack can commence from and how to apply the principles of Krav Maga to provide simple solutions to the attacks. Unfortunately, simple is not always easy we used an approach of slowly practising the techniques to solve the attacks and gradually increased the pressure so that everyone can feel how the natural reactions and flinch response can lead the process of surviving the attack. Once the basic solutions had been performed well under pressure, the approach of controlling and disarming an attacker were practised. Well done to everyone who attended, I hope you enjoyed the experience, you earned your stripes today “by stripes I mean bruised forearms”.
